    A Great Person

Mr Covington was my science & PE teacher at Harmony from 69 til 71. There was no one else that inspired us more and encouraged us to to our best more than Mr Covington. He was the first person that I ever heard speak with a southern accent. I can hear his voice as I write this. His sayings, whether

Grateful Memories of a Wonderful Man

In 1970, I was a fresh-out-of-college teacher at Harmony School. It was Karon who took me under his wing that first year, encouraging, listening and being a dear, wise friend when I needed one. I was so grateful for his care of me. Karon will always have a special place in my heart.

    My favorite LIFE teacher

I attended Harmony Elementary in the 70’s and Mr. Covington was my science teacher. He had the best laugh while trying to teach wild kids the scientific method. Sometimes I had to write “I will not chew gum in class” a hundred times - sometimes I had to run laps around the playing field. But mostly

    Wonderful grandparents

I have gotten to know Karon (and Jo) well in the years since Michelle and Kim married and much better in the years since Cassidy became our granddaughter. We've shared many holidays together and I can't imagine having any other grand parents as sweet, generous, loving and supportive as Karon and Jo

    Kindness in a Man's Man

Karon and Jo have had such a wonderful impact on our lives and the lives of many others at our church. I have been so impressed with Karon's accomplishments in athletics, teaching, coaching, mentoring and accompanying all those aspects of success he was one of the kindest, gentlest souls I have met!

    Blessed

I first met Karon when I began my teaching career at Harmony School in 1974. Karon loved people and he immediately took me under his wing. He was so encouraging, had a great sense of humor and I loved his laugh. I remember special times with our Harmony staff--we were a family. One memory that sta

The hopeful words that stuck with me

I had Mr Covington as a science teacher and while he taught us so many, many things, this one phrase often comes back to me: “Every dog has his day.” Of course, I always hear it in his accent. I don’t know how the other students interpreted his words, but the words have helped me to be patient and

    Bless you Karen

I worked with Karen at Harmony School. He was the kindest man and helped me get started saving for retirement. If things were difficult I could always go to him for gentle counsel and a laugh.

A Tight Bond for These Two

Karon was over the moon when he found out Kim and I were having a girl. Every time he saw Cassidy he'd greet her with "Hey, Daaahrlin'' in that Southern drawl we all know and loved. I'm going to miss this and soooo much more.

    What a Man

Mr. Covington had a profound impact on my life for so many reasons. Over the course of over (40) years, I grew to respect this incredible man for his faith, character, love for his family, work ethic and over all passion he had for life. Whether it was teaching, coaching, abalone diving, physical f

    Mr. Covington

I do not really have the words to do justice for all that Mr. Covington provided for so many people, but here is what I will say. I remember less than a handful of teachers that had an impact on me. Mr. Covington is at the top of that small list. He was my coach in 7th and 8th grade in football, bas

    Thankful

As a follower of Jesus and fellow elder and member of Santa Rosa Bible Church with Karon, I was blessed and encouraged by him and his ministry to me. He and Jo would pray for me often and would offer me constant encouragement in my walk with Jesus. In addition, their kindness and generosity to me an
